The fact that most Christians cannot discern the signs of Noah that would characterize the last generation, prove that we indeed are witnessing the lingering shadows around us now. Jesus gave two specific signs. He said the final days would by identified by a class of people who thought that eating and marrying were not only good, but that they were actually performing pious service to God by indulging in these activities, sound familiar?… He said that at the end of the world there would be a people like those who God utterly destroyed by the great flood. ~ “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24.38,39). If there is one thing that God will not tolerate it is profaning His holy institutions. Like the days of Noah, it has now become commonplace, even among those who consider themselves to be of the most devoted, to defile themselves in these two specific activities. For the last 1900 years, Christians have readily understood the evil of ‘eating and marrying,’ but today it has become a complete enigma.

Jesus Came to Save the Lost

Let’s have a closer look at what the Bible says about the first sign Jesus mentioned. Jesus said, ~ “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a glutton and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children” (Matthew 11.18,19). In fact, Jesus had no friends who were tax collectors or sinners. This is only what they accused Him of. Some will say that the disciple ‘Matthew’ was a tax collector. However, scripture states the first thing Jesus said¹ to Matthew was to quit collecting taxing if he wanted to follow in His steps. Now, let’s look at what these two verses mean. Jesus said, “…John came neither eating nor drinking” (Mat.11.18). Here we have the first clue. How could anyone live without out eating and not drinking? Of course, the meaning is that John the Baptist did not ‘eat and drink WITH sinners.’ The next verse bears this out when it says that Jesus was eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners. Like the days of Noah, we have this same lie being propagated and acted upon today. Jesus had no friends who were practicing sinner. He did, however, have a deep love for all of mankind and actively sought to save them from the perils of wickedness. Jesus was accessible to one and all without prejudice. He said ~ “for the Son of Man [Jesus] has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19.10).

The Noah Generation

If one is honest about what Jesus said referring to eating and drinking with sinners, the following verses will not be omitted. ~ “But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ and begins…to eat and drink with the drunkards, the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for [him] and…cut him in two and appoint [him] his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 24.48-51). It is not a question of religious obedience; it is a question of spiritual immaturity and moral weakness. God does not want Christians to separate themselves from unbelievers. God wants His children to be so on fire with the love of the Holy Spirit that, like Jesus, sinners flock to them to learn and partake of the love of Jesus. On the contrary, the Noah generation is the exact opposite. The Noah generation throngs to the table of the devil’s children to indulge in the lust of every kind of evil and depravation of the end of the age. ~ “Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God” (James 4.4). This present generation of ‘church members’ is so enamored with the decadence and debasement of all that is wicked and perverted, there never seems to be enough. Ok, but what about the family? Surely God loves the family and would never say² or do anything against it. — God indeed loves the family; notwithstanding, He hates the perversion of it. God has given the family to the human race to teach it about Jesus and the church, yet the present generation has adulterated the family to the point that it does the exact opposite of what God intended for it to do. Instead of teaching about God, most families are so gullible and estranged from God that the enemy has been permitted to convert them into one of the most effective stumbling blocks in his arsenal.

A Titanic Monument

In spite of the ominous clouds gathering, there was a family in the Days of Noah that understood God’s plan to save them out of the wicked swarm that surrounded them. The burning conviction of the Holy Spirit inside moved them day by day to build a breathtaking monument of faith, an ark, by which they would be miraculously saved from the foreboding inundation which God had prophesied. This upright family chosen, separated, and called by God diffused a luminous beacon of light in the midst that infernal and wanton multitude. No one needed directions to find the home of Noah. There was an enormous sign reaching up into the heavens pointing the way to the home of this pious family of God. It was the object of their trust in God, an mammoth ark, a titanic monument to their faith that could be seen miles away, by which they would not only save themselves, but also the world.

Hebrews 11:7

By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
